The last few days have been hectic between team members getting their shots, renewing their passports etc. We’ve also been busy firming up on offers from volunteers and pledges of equipment. Trying to sort all this out and plan the logistics is enough to give one a major pain in the cranium. But hey, I volunteered!

Anyway, the best news is that we will have someone in Haiti by the middle of next week. Brett Turner, one off our volunteers, has 25 years off telecoms experience and has spend a lot of that working in Haiti. He will be our "man on the ground" while we get everything arranged to send a complete team in. Brett has excellent contacts in Haiti so he will hopefully report back to us with a clearer picture of the telecoms infra-structure but he will also try to make arrangements for accommodation etc.

In the meantime I can’s ask loudly enough for more donations; we need more network hardware, more camping equipment and most off all more funds. There are a certain amount off costs involved with looking after the team while on the ground. Security itself is one of those costs. So please help us gather the means to make this mission possible! You can make an online donation here or email us if you want to donate equipment. A full list of equipment needed can be found here.

More news soon!
